Jiiva Priya Bhavani Shankar Black Movie

The Tamil film industry is abuzz with excitement as “Black,” starring Jiiva and Priya Bhavani Shankar, gears up for its release on October 11, 2024. Directed by K.G. Balasubramani, the film is an official remake of the 2013 American psychological thriller “Coherence.” In the original film, directed by James Ward Byrkit, the plot revolves around a group of friends who experience a series of bizarre events during a dinner party when a comet passes overhead.

The film “Black” is touted to meet Hollywood standards and seeks to captivate audiences with its suspenseful narrative. It promises a “mind-twisting” experience, as described by lead actor Jiiva, who stated at a recent pre-release event, “When I first heard the script, it felt like a mind-twisting story to me. I feel like the film will help audiences open their third eye.” Jiiva emphasized the film’s appeal to younger audiences due to its intricate plot.

Jiiva and Priya Bhavani Shankar take on the roles of a young couple who encounter eerie activities after moving to a newly built gated community. The film’s trailer has already generated significant intrigue, suggesting that the couple finds themselves trapped and desperate to escape an isolated, storm-stricken area. The narrative unfolds over a single night, heightening its suspenseful atmosphere.

The supporting cast includes Vivek Prasanna, Yog Japee, Sha Ra, and Swayam Siddha in key roles. Technical contributions include the original score by Sam CS, cinematography by Gokul Benoy, and editing by Philomin Raj. The production team has ensured a grand theatrical release by partnering with a distribution company.

“Black” will face competition at the box office from “Vettaiyan,” another anticipated Tamil film. However, it strategically avoids a clash with the Rajinikanth starrer, as “Black” debuts a day later. Jiiva’s return to the silver screen with “Black” marks his first significant release in two years, and it has been granted a U/A certification with a runtime of 1 hour and 58 minutes.
