Tamil Film ‘Vaazhai’ Set for OTT Release on Disney+ Hotstar

Renowned Tamil filmmaker Mari Selvaraj‘s latest film, ‘Vaazhai‘, which has received widespread critical acclaim and achieved commercial success, is now preparing for its OTT release. The film, featuring actors Kalairassan, Nikhila Vimal, Ponvel M, and Rakul R, made its theatrical debut on August 23, 2024, followed by its release in Kerala cinemas on August 30.

‘Vaazhai’ is based on an incident from Mari Selvaraj’s own life and has been lauded by critics and audiences alike. The film has further established Selvaraj’s reputation for creating impactful cinema, following his previous successes with movies such as ‘Pariyerum Perumal’, ‘Karnan‘, and ‘Mamannan’. Esteemed filmmakers like Bala, Sudha Kongara, Ram, and Mishkin have also expressed their admiration for ‘Vaazhai’.

The screenplay for ‘Vaazhai’ has been crafted by Mari Selvaraj himself, and the film has been produced collaboratively by Navvi Studios, Disney Plus Hotstar, and Farmers Master Plan. Cinematographer Theni Eswar has contributed his expertise behind the camera, while Santhosh Narayanan has composed the film’s music. The movie is set to be available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar starting October 11.
