Taskmaster Series 17 Contestants Announced

The highly anticipated line-up for the upcoming 17th series of Taskmaster has been revealed, sparking excitement among fans of the hit show. The contestants set to compete for the ultimate prize are Joanne McNally, John Robins, Nick Mohammed, Sophie Willan, and Steve Pemberton.

Taskmaster, known as the most important show on television, will be overseen by the formidable Lord Greg Davies, with his loyal sidekick, Little Alex Horne, by his side. The BAFTA and National Comedy Award-winning series has seen immense success, ranking as one of Channel 4‘s most streamed titles in 2023, accumulating a staggering 2.3 billion viewing minutes. The launch episode of series 15 alone has already garnered 85.4 million streaming minutes.

With anticipation building, the contestants are prepared to give it their all to impress the almighty Taskmaster and secure the highest points. Joanne McNally, a talented comedian, writer, and winner of the British Podcast Award for her podcast ‘My Therapist Ghosted Me,’ is ready for the challenge. Joining her is John Robins, an Edinburgh Comedy Award-winning comedian and popular radio presenter on BBC Radio 5 Live.

Also vying for victory is Nick Mohammed, a multi-talented actor and comedian known for his role in the hit series ‘Ted Lasso.’ Sophie Willan, a BAFTA-winning actor, writer, producer, and comedian, famed for her show ‘Alma’s Not Normal,’ adds her unique talent to the mix. Lastly, Steve Pemberton, an award-winning actor and writer renowned for his work on ‘Inside No. 9,’ promises to bring his A-game to the competition.

The series will be helmed by Executive Producers Alex Horne, Richard Allen-Turner, Rob Aslett, James Taylor, Jon Thoday, and Andy Devonshire. Andy Cartwright will serve as the Series Producer. Channel 4 has commissioned the show, led by Head of Live Events Tom Beck and Head of Entertainment Steve Handley.
