Taylor Lautner Werewolf Hunter Tv Series

LOS ANGELES, CA — Taylor Lautner, known for his role in the ‘Twilight‘ series, is set to star in and executive produce the upcoming scripted series ‘Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter.’ The project is currently in development at Amazon MGM Studios, Variety reported on February 12, 2025.

Described as a self-aware series, ‘Taylor Lautner: Werewolf Hunter’ centers on the actor’s transition from Hollywood star to a supernatural warrior. The official synopsis reveals that after the final ‘Twilight’ film, Lautner vanished from the public eye, but he was not simply taking a break. Instead, he was preparing for his true calling as a werewolf hunter.

According to the logline, ‘Playing himself, Taylor is drawn into a secret society of werewolf trackers who need his unique expertise. As he navigates his double life—Hollywood actor by day, supernatural warrior by night—Taylor must wrestle with the ultimate irony: fighting the very creatures that made him famous.’

Daisy Gardner, who previously worked on the Freeform series ‘Single Drunk Female,’ serves as the creator and showrunner for the project. Directors Matthew Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, known for their work on the ‘Scream’ films, will also act as executive producers through their production company Radio Silence.

Adam Londy and Tarik Kanafani will executive produce alongside Gardner. The series is being produced in collaboration with Tornante, the independent studio behind popular shows like ‘BoJack Horseman.’

Lautner first gained fame as Jacob Black, a werewolf descended from a long line of shapeshifters, in the ‘Twilight’ film franchise, which grossed over $3 billion worldwide. After the franchise concluded in 2012, he appeared in several other productions, including films like ‘Grown Ups 2’ and ‘The Ridiculous 6,’ but largely stepped away from the limelight in recent years.

Fans of Lautner are likely to welcome his return to themes involving werewolves, given his iconic role in ‘Twilight.’ The mix of humor and horror in the premise suggests a metafictional approach similar to that of movies like ‘The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent.’

The announcement has generated excitement among his fanbase, who are eager to see how Lautner translates his previous on-screen transformation into a narrative rich in humor and supernatural adventure.

Lautner is represented by Untitled Entertainment and Hansen Jacobson, while Gardner is represented by WME and other agencies. This ambitious project highlights the evolving landscape of television as streaming platforms continue to explore unique and unconventional storylines.
