Taylor Sheridan’s ‘The Madison’: Key Details on Upcoming Yellowstone Spin-Off

LOS ANGELES, April 6, 2025 — Taylor Sheridan‘s new series ‘The Madison,’ a spin-off of the popular ‘Yellowstone,’ follows the McIntosh family from New York City as they adapt to life in the Madison River Valley of central Montana. The Paramount series, which stars Michelle Pfeiffer and is currently in production, promises to deliver a fresh perspective within the Yellowstone universe.
Announced in 2023, ‘The Madison’ is set against stunning Montana landscapes and features a storyline that captures the challenges of leaving urban life behind for rural living. Pfeiffer plays Stacy Clyburn, the matriarch of the McIntosh family, alongside actors Patrick J. Adams and Elle Chapman, who portray Russell and Paige McIntosh respectively.
Additionally, Matthew Fox joins the cast as Paul, while Beau Garrett and Amiah Miller play the newly divorced Abigail and her daughter Bridgette. Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Alaina Pollack, and Danielle Vasinova round out the ensemble, portraying a variety of characters with intersecting lives in this evolving narrative.
Although the storyline is rooted in the McIntosh family, it remains to be seen how it connects to the broader Yellowstone narrative, particularly following Kevin Costner’s exit from the original series. While rumors circulated about potential characters crossing over from the Dutton family saga, director Christina Alexandra Voros indicated that ‘The Madison’ offers a distinct perspective on the region.
In her words, ‘We are in Montana, but it is seen through a completely different lens, so it feels like another facet of this cut stone that has been polished.’ This statement suggests a unique thematic approach, possibly distancing the new series from direct connections to the Dutton legacy.
Filming for ‘The Madison’ began in September 2024 in Montana before moving to Dallas for additional scenes. While an official premiere date is yet to be announced, speculation suggests a possible release in late 2025 or early 2026.
As excitement builds around ‘The Madison,’ fans of the Yellowstone franchise are eager to see how this new chapter unfolds in a vastly different environment. With Sheridan’s proven track record for strong character development and storytelling, the anticipation for this series continues to grow.
