Telecom Giants Airtel and Jio Announce Price Hike on Prepaid and Postpaid Plans

Two of India‘s prominent telecom operators, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel, have disclosed a revision in their prepaid and postpaid plan tariffs starting July 3, 2024. The adjustment in pricing structures by these industry leaders is poised to impact a vast number of users across India.

The updated prepaid plans from Reliance Jio feature price increases across various packages. The entry-level monthly plan, initially priced at Rs 155 for 2GB of data over 28 days, will now be priced at Rs 189. Similarly, users opting for the 1GB/day plan will see their costs rise from Rs 209 to Rs 249 for the same validity period.

Meanwhile, Bharti Airtel has also revised its prepaid plans with significant increases. The basic unlimited voice plan that was previously priced at Rs 179 for 28 days with 2GB of data will now be priced at Rs 199. Additionally, the 1GB/day plan for 28 days has increased from Rs 265 to Rs 299.

On the postpaid front, Reliance Jio has introduced changes to its offerings as well. The entry-level postpaid plan now comes at a cost of Rs 349, up from Rs 299, offering 30GB of data with roll-over and unlimited calling benefits. Similarly, Airtel’s postpaid plans have undergone adjustments with the base plan now priced at Rs 449, offering 40GB of data with rollover and additional benefits.
