MIAMI, Fla. – March 3, 2025 – Telemundo has announced the debut of its new live nightly sports program, ‘El Pelotazo,’ set to air at midnight ET/PT starting March 10. The show will be broadcast seven days a week, promising viewers an exciting blend of sports news with a strong focus on soccer, as we approach the FIFA World Cup 2026.

Joaquín Duro, executive vice president of sports for NBCUniversal Telemundo Enterprises, expressed his enthusiasm for the new venture, stating, “We are proud to present ‘El Pelotazo,’ a program that offers a refreshing concept that redefines sports entertainment for our Latin audience—different from what has been seen in Hispanic sports television.” Duro emphasized the growing interest in soccer in the U.S. among the Latino community, noting, “This program will become a must-watch as we gear up for the FIFA World Cup 2026, exclusively on Telemundo.”

‘El Pelotazo’ will be hosted by dynamic personalities Verónica Rodríguez, Diego Arrioja, and Pablo Mariño, each bringing their unique perspectives and energy to the program. Together, they will provide in-depth analysis, lively discussions, and exclusive interviews with sports figures, all in a vibrant and engaging format that aims to resonate with viewers.

This innovative show seeks to expand upon traditional sports coverage by delivering fresh insights and entertaining segments. The title ‘El Pelotazo,’ inspired by the significance of the word in sports, represents a break from conventional sports programs, offering a full 360-degree view of major sporting events with high energy and thought-provoking discussions.
