2025 Television Academy Hall Of Fame Inductees

LOS ANGELES, California — The Television Academy has announced the inductees for its 27th Hall of Fame class. Actors Viola Davis and Henry Winkler, late live-event producer Don Mischer, series creator Ryan Murphy, talk show host Conan O'Brien, and composer Mike Post will be honored on August 16, 2025, during the Televerse Festival.

Rick Rosen, chair of the Hall of Fame selection committee, praised the six honorees for their contributions to storytelling in television. “All six honorees have elevated the art of storytelling and have had an extraordinary influence on television culture and history,” Rosen stated.

The Hall of Fame honors individuals who have made significant contributions to the television industry, whether through a lifetime of work or singular achievements. The 2025 honorees join over 150 other inductees since the Hall’s inception in 1984.

Cris Abrego, chair of the Television Academy, noted the profound impact these creators have had on the television landscape. “These trailblazing performers, creators, and producers have left an indelible mark on our industry,” Abrego said.

The official induction ceremony will take place at the JW Marriott in downtown Los Angeles as part of the Televerse Festival, running from August 14 to 16. Tickets for the Hall of Fame ceremony will be available to Academy members and the public.

Viola Davis, known for her Emmy Award-winning role in “How to Get Away with Murder,” is an EGOT winner. Don Mischer, who passed away on April 11, 2025, is remembered for directing major live events like the Emmys and presidential inaugurations. Ryan Murphy is known for creating iconic series like “Glee” and “American Horror Story.” Conan O’Brien is a celebrated late-night host with a career spanning three decades. Mike Post is recognized for composing numerous famous TV themes, including those for “Law & Order” and “The Rockford Files.” Henry Winkler gained fame as “The Fonz” on “Happy Days” and has continued to excel in Hollywood for over 50 years.

These inductees showcase the wide-ranging talents and achievements within the entertainment industry, reflecting its evolution and the lasting impact of its pioneers.
