Renowned Nigerian singer-songwriter Tems has officially dropped her latest single, ‘Love Me JeJe,’ teasing fans with a glimpse of what’s to come from her upcoming debut album, ‘Born in the Wild,’ set for release next month.

The track, which translates to ‘Love Me Gently’ in Nigerian, showcases Tems’ signature style with heartfelt lyrics and a mellow, guitar-infused melody that is sure to resonate with listeners. In the song, Tems sings, “If not you, then I don’t wanna know, I don’t want no story. Day and night, it’s unconditional, got me living softly. Love me JeJe, love me tender.”

‘Love Me JeJe’ features an interpolation of Seyi Sodimu’s 1997 hit of the same name, adding a nostalgic touch to the contemporary track. The song was co-written by Tems herself and produced by the talented duo Spax and Guiltybeatz.

While ‘Love Me JeJe’ serves as the lead single from ‘Born in the Wild,’ the album’s full tracklist and release date are yet to be unveiled. Tems announced the album earlier this month through a captivating trailer, hinting at a deep exploration of her roots and upbringing in Lagos.

Born in the Wild marks Tems’ debut album after a successful career that kickstarted with her 2018 single ‘Mr. Rebel.’ The artist has since garnered widespread acclaim for hits like ‘Damages’ in 2020 and ‘Free Mind’ in 2022, as well as notable collaborations with industry heavyweights like Wizkid and Future.

In addition to her musical endeavors, Tems recently graced the stage at Coachella for the first time, delivering a standout performance that included a rendition of ‘Essence.’ With upcoming appearances at festivals like the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland and a growing global fanbase, Tems continues to solidify her position as a rising star in the music industry.
