Tesla Entices Legacy Model Y Owners with $2,000 Loyalty Discount

FREMONT, Calif. — Tesla is launching a new promotion for owners of the legacy Model Y aimed at encouraging them to upgrade to the latest version of the all-electric crossover. As part of this initiative, Tesla is offering a $2,000 discount to legacy Model Y owners who take delivery of the new model.
The new Model Y began rolling out in markets worldwide earlier this year, following its initial launch in China, Europe, and North America. Tesla’s recent production line shifts resulted in several weeks of delays for production and deliveries in the first quarter. Now, the company is ramping up its efforts to catch up with its annual delivery goals.
“If you’re a current or previous Model Y owner, you may receive a text from Tesla offering a $2,000 loyalty incentive,” a message posted by Tesla on social media stated. Recent customer feedback highlighted excitement surrounding the promotion. “I bought a 2021 Model Y Performance,” a user shared on social media.
The updated Model Y features several enhancements, including acoustic-lined glass for better sound insulation, improved suspension for a smoother ride, and a sleeker design that enhances aerodynamic performance. Other improvements include features like quieter-closing doors, making it a compelling choice for those considering an upgrade.
Despite some concerns about demand for the new model, Tesla appears to have a solid customer base, although they are seeking to attract even more purchasers. In the recently concluded quarter, the company’s delivery numbers fell short of expectations, attributed in part to the production line transitions. Looking ahead, Tesla optimistically aims for a robust year, with plans for more affordable models on the horizon.
