Think It Over's Return Set For Exciting Opener At Randwick

The highly anticipated return of the eight-year-old champion Think It Over is set to kick off in the prestigious Apollo Stakes at Randwick, a race he impressively won two years ago. Trainer Kerry Parker is enthusiastic about Think It Over’s conditioning as he gears up for his first start of 2024 in the Apollo Stakes at Randwick.

Renowned jockey Nash Rawiller is slated to continue his partnership with Think It Over in the 1400-metre event, with Parker eyeing two more races for the horse before their bid at the Queen Elizabeth Stakes during The Championships in April. Think It Over captured the Apollo and Queen Elizabeth titles during a stellar 2022 campaign before a tendon injury sidelined him for over a year.

In his comeback during the 2023 spring, Think It Over triumphed in the Craven Plate, showcasing his enduring class. Following a brief spell post a Group 1 King Charles III Stakes appearance last October, the gelding is back in fine form for his 2024 campaign.

Parker expressed satisfaction with Think It Over’s trials and overall preparation, affirming his excitement for the upcoming race. The veteran horse will follow a traditional path leading to the Queen Elizabeth Stakes, which he claimed once before. The Apollo Stakes sees 13 nominations, including high-caliber contenders like Fangirl, Cascadian, and Militarize.

Despite a commendable first-up run in last year’s Tramway Stakes, where he finished sixth, Think It Over’s trainer has structured a more streamlined build-up this time. With two successful Warwick Farm trials under his belt, Think It Over appears poised for a strong showing in the Apollo Stakes.

Parker acknowledged Think It Over’s advancing age but remains confident in the horse’s abilities. The seasoned campaigner has displayed excellent work ethic and form in his preparations, instilling optimism in his trainer ahead of the much-anticipated return.
