Wrath Of Rakshasa Roller Coaster Six Flags Great America

GURNEE, Ill. — Six Flags Great America is set to unveil its newest attraction, the Wrath of Rakshasa, on Saturday, May 31. This highly anticipated roller coaster promises heart-stopping thrills as it takes riders on a wild journey.

The Wrath of Rakshasa is notable for being the steepest dive coaster in the world. It boasts a remarkable 180-foot height and features a dizzying 96-degree drop. Riders will feel the rush as they plunge at speeds reaching 67 mph, just in time to tackle five daring inversions along 3,239 feet of twisting steel track.

As riders ascend the hill, they will experience a suspenseful pause, dangling precariously over the edge before plummeting into the drop. The design of this floorless coaster gives them the sensation of flying with their feet dangling freely.

According to park officials, this coaster incorporates elements from Hindu mythology, with Rakshasa—a shape-shifting demon—serving as the thematic inspiration. Guests can expect to hear spine-tingling warnings from the demon before they are launched into the twists and turns of his lair.

Rakshasa is described as a fierce creature with flaming red eyes and a thirst for human flesh, adding to the coaster’s intense atmosphere. This new ride complements the park’s existing coaster lineup, particularly the nearby 1976 Demon looping coaster.

The park encourages thrill-seekers to prepare for an exhilarating experience, setting the stage for an unforgettable summer at Six Flags Great America.
