Luxury Lakeside Property Medina Minnesota

MEDINA, Minn. — The sprawling estate of Karl-Anthony Towns has hit the market for $5.5 million following his recent trade to the New York Knicks. The six-bedroom, nine-bathroom mansion, located at 1492 Hunter Dr., spans an impressive 17,251 square feet and sits on over five acres alongside the exclusive Mooney Lake.

The property, which went live on Tuesday, March 26, 2025, offers a unique combination of luxury and recreational amenities. According to the listing, it features a gym, arcade, wine cellar, basketball court, movie theater, indoor swimming pool with a poolside bar, and an outdoor swimming pool, among other opulent highlights.

“We have had strong interest so far. It’s very difficult to find a private lot like this, with lake views and only four to five minutes from downtown Wayzata and Lake Minnetonka,” said LaVelle, the agent handling the sale. “These types of properties are hard to come by overall, and the sellers are hopeful the market responds favorably and in short order.”

The estate was previously owned by auto magnate Denny Hecker, before Towns purchased it in 2018 for $4.52 million. The current ownership is registered under HUNTER DRIVE LLC, managed by Towns’ sister, Lachelle Almonte.

Among its stunning features, the estate showcases notable artwork depicting music legends such as Bob Marley, Jimi Hendrix, Biggie Smalls, and Snoop Dogg. This extravagant lifestyle begs the question of what similar properties in major cities might cost, with estimates suggesting a residence of this caliber in New York City could fetch around $30 million.

As for Towns, who is enjoying a strong season with the Knicks, the 29-year-old center has fully embraced his new journey since moving to New York. He and his girlfriend, model Jordyn Woods, recently relocated to a $14 million mansion in Los Angeles, which is reportedly near reality TV star Kim Kardashian.

The Timberwolves, who had Towns on their roster for nine seasons, currently hold a record of 41-32 as they eye the playoffs. Meanwhile, the Knicks are performing well with a 45-26 record. It’s unclear whether Towns’s decision to sell his Minnesota estate is linked to his new chapter with the Knicks, or if it’s simply a lucrative real estate opportunity.

The listing reflects the desire for a quick sale, as the luxury housing market continues to see interest in unique properties like this one. For those interested, a photo tour of the estate is available through Compass Realty, showcasing the standout features of this lakeside paradise.
