Tom Green Reclaims His Roots in New Reality Series

ONTARIO, Canada — Former MTV star Tom Green has embraced a new chapter in his life since moving back to Canada in 2021 after two decades in California. Now residing on a 150-acre farm in a remote area of Ontario, Green is sharing his experiences through the reality series ‘Tom Green Country’ on Prime Video.
Green, 53, lives alongside various animals, including chickens and a 1,500-pound mule named Fanny. ‘I’m often in the wilderness,’ he told Fox News Digital. ‘There’s not a lot outside the farm as far as restaurants and conveniences. It’s nice to be living in the country at the farm.’
He also highlighted some of the challenges, noting, ‘In California, it was nice to do stand-up comedy every night. But… there’s nothing really I miss about living there, to be honest with you.’
Alongside his reality show, Green has launched a stand-up special titled ‘Tom Green: I Got a Mule!’ and a documentary, ‘This Is the Tom Green Documentary.’ He describes the documentary as a way to set the record straight about his past and allow people to get to know him better. ‘I’ve kept all of this footage for years of my old public access show and videos that I used,’ he said.
The star, who gained fame during the Y2K era, reflected on his early days, saying, ‘The show was pretty outrageous and kind of a crazy show. It sometimes shocked people, confused people.’ He believes his projects can help audiences understand him more clearly.
Living closer to his childhood home has brought Green clarity and peace. ‘They still talk to me,’ he said of his parents, who have forgiven him for his famous pranks, including the time he put a cow’s head on their bed. ‘It’s been the best decision I’ve made, I think ever, really.’
Now, Green enjoys riding Fanny and managing his farm. ‘I didn’t know anything about riding horses or mules,’ he admitted. ‘I’ve really gotten to become very comfortable riding Fanny.’
In his newfound rural lifestyle, Green has found happiness and tranquility. He stated, ‘It’s nice to live in a simpler, calmer environment and just be in the presence of these animals. I think it makes me a much happier person for sure.’
As he continues his journey, Green encourages others to consider a rural life. ‘If you do want to move to the country and leave the city, you have to genuinely like that rural lifestyle. It’s not for everyone, but it was a great choice for me.’
