NEW YORK — Tom Hanks and Bryan Cranston entertained fans at the premiere of their new film, “The Phoenician Scheme,” on Wednesday night. The event took place at Jazz at Lincoln Center, where the star-studded cast showcased their latest work.

Hanks, 68, brought his trademark humor to the red carpet as he posed for photographers. When some began joking that the photo session was dragging on, he playfully exclaimed, “I want to be right where the other photographers are,” waving his arms in jest. The crowd erupted in laughter when Hanks jokingly told one cameraman to “shut the f–k up,” showcasing his light-hearted spirit.

Cranston, 69, also shared funny moments with the press. After a photographer pointed out that his tie was slightly crooked, he responded with mock surprise, saying, “My tie is askew!” The actor deadpanned, “Thanks for letting me know my tie was askew,” before adding with a grin, “I’m going to come out with a line of ties called Askew!”

The premiere was not just about the laughs. The film features a talented ensemble cast, including Benicio del Toro, Mia Threapleton, and Scarlett Johansson. The plot follows a businessman, played by del Toro, and his daughter, a nun, who dive into a world of eccentric tycoons and determined assassins.

After the screening, the celebration continued at the Metropolitan Club, where more stars including Matthew Broderick and Jon Hamm mingled. “The Phoenician Scheme” is set for a limited release on May 30, with a wider release planned for June 6. The film is directed by Wes Anderson, marking a departure in style with acclaimed cinematographer Bruno Delbonnel taking the helm.
