Tom Hanks and Robin Wright Reunite in New Film ‘Here’ After 30 Years Since ‘Forrest Gump’
After three decades since their iconic roles in the Oscar-winning film ‘Forrest Gump,’ Tom Hanks and Robin Wright have reunited for a new drama titled ‘Here.’ The film, directed by Robert Zemeckis, who also directed ‘Forrest Gump,’ brings the duo back together in a narrative that spans multiple generations of individuals inhabiting the same piece of land across different time periods.
During an appearance on TODAY, Robin Wright shared insights into the filming of both ‘Forrest Gump’ and ‘Here.’ She revealed that during the production of ‘Forrest Gump,’ she and Tom Hanks did not have many conversations, as Hanks was often busy running during his lunch breaks to prepare for his role. However, while filming ‘Here,’ they had the opportunity to spend more meaningful time together and connect as adults.
‘Here’ is a unique project that captures relatable human experiences and unfolds in a single location. Wright expressed her enthusiasm for the project, stating, “I would do anything with Bob and Tom,” and highlighted the film’s resonance with audiences by capturing the essence of human experiences such as joy, loss, and growth.
The film premiered at AFI Fest, where the cast and crew, including Hanks, Wright, and Zemeckis, walked the carpet and discussed the making of ‘Here.’ Despite early critical reviews being less than favorable, the film is set to open on November 1, giving audiences a chance to see whether the trio can recapture some of the magic from their previous collaboration.
