2025 Tony Award Winners Announced Amidstar-Studded Ceremony

NEW YORK, NY — The 2025 Tony Awards were held on June 8, celebrating this year’s outstanding achievements in Broadway theatre. Hosted by Emmy and Grammy winner Cynthia Erivo, the ceremony took place at Radio City Music Hall.
Some notable winners included the musical Buena Vista Social Club, Maybe Happy Ending, and the play Stranger Things: The First Shadow, each securing three awards during the night. Also making waves were The Picture of Dorian Gray and Sunset Blvd. with multiple wins in various categories.
The evening kicked off with Sarah Snook winning the award for Actress in a Leading Role (Play) for her performance in The Picture of Dorian Gray. Meanwhile, Francis Jue took home the Actor in a Leading Role (Play) award for his work in Yellow Face, marking a significant moment for the evening.
Jak Malone, a newcomer to Broadway, won Actor in a Featured Role for Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical. Additionally, Maybe Happy Ending not only won the Best Book of a Musical award but added wins for Scenic Design and Original Score as well.
Special awards were also presented this year, with Harvey Fierstein receiving the Lifetime Achievement Award and Celia Keenan-Bolger earning the Isabelle Stevenson Award for her humanitarian efforts. The Muny from St. Louis was celebrated with the 2025 Regional Theatre Tony Award.
