Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin – Emmy-winning actor Tony Shalhoub is back in his home state this month, showcasing the beauty and culinary culture of Door County in his new CNN series, Breaking Bread.

Shalhoub, a Green Bay native, traveled to Baileys Harbor to film the show in June. The series follows Shalhoub as he explores the way bread connects people around the globe. He meets bakers, chefs, and home cooks while sharing stories over their meals.

During his visit, Shalhoub raised a glass with local brewing expert Matt Sampson and the crew at Sway Brewing + Blending. Sampson noted he was uncertain if the segment would air until he saw it for the first time.

“The show reached us through them, and of course, Tony’s from Green Bay and has a house in Door County, so they wanted to do a show focused on the area,” Sampson commented. “He’s a super nice guy, like everything you’d think he’d be.”

The episode featuring Shalhoub’s visit to Door County is available to stream on Apple TV. This is not the first time the actor has returned to his roots; he filmed the movie Feed the Fish on the peninsula in 2010, directed by his nephew, Mike Matzdorf.
