A Tornado Watch has been issued for the Dallas-Fort Worth area and eastern Oklahoma, including Tulsa, due to the potential for severe weather on Monday, November 4, 2024. The National Weather Service warned of possible tornadoes, large hail, and damaging winds in the region.

The severe weather threat is expected to develop in western counties of North Texas from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and then move east towards the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. During this period, residents can expect all hazards, including quarter-size hail, winds up to 60 mph, localized flooding, and isolated tornadoes.

Counties further north, such as Denton, Collin, Grayson, and Cooke, are under an enhanced risk of severe weather, making them the most likely areas to experience tornadoes and damaging winds. The morning started off warm, muggy, and windy with temperatures in the mid-70s.

Residents are advised to be prepared for an active day with multiple ways to receive warnings. Travel plans should be considered for postponement until the severe storms move out of the area. The storms are expected to move out of the Metroplex by 10 p.m., with a few showers possibly lingering into Tuesday morning.

After a brief lull, rain and storms are forecasted to return to the Dallas-Fort Worth area from Thursday into Saturday morning. Seasonal temperatures in the 70s are expected to prevail throughout the week.
