Tragic Accident Claims the Life of Malome Vector and Friends
In heartbreaking news from the entertainment world, popular Sotho rapper Malome Vector has lost his life in a car accident. Reports say he passed away while traveling with two other artists in the Free State as they were on their way to shoot a music video in Lesotho.
According to sources, the accident occurred on the N1 highway near Kroonstad, where their vehicle collided with a heavier motor vehicle. The tragic incident took place on Wednesday afternoon, just after 1 PM.
Three men, including Malome Vector, were confirmed dead at the scene, while a female passenger sustained moderate to serious injuries and a male passenger suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The Free State Department of Health confirmed the involvement of the musicians and said their managers had been notified. An investigation is ongoing, and early reports suggest a burst tire might have caused the driver to lose control.
The music industry is mourning the loss of Malome Vector, whose real name was Bokang Moleli. His former record label, Ambitiouz Entertainment, expressed their sorrow in a heartfelt message on social media, describing him as a ‘shining beacon.’
Malome Vector was well-known for hits like ‘Ichu‘ and ‘Motho Waka.’ He rose to fame after moving to Johannesburg in 2020 and quickly made a name for himself in both Lesotho and South Africa.
The rapper’s last album, ‘Karabo,’ featured collaborations with popular artists and reflected his personal journey. Fans and fellow artists have taken to social media to express their grief and share memories of the talented musician.
