Train Bassist Charlie Colin Passes Away at 58

Charlie Colin, a foundational member of the band Train, tragically passed away at the age of 58 after an accident while house-sitting in Brussels, Belgium.

Colin’s sad demise was confirmed by his family, who revealed that his body was discovered only when his friends returned after a trip, shedding light on the circumstances of his death.

Train, which comprised members like Pat Monahan, Rob Hotchkiss, Scott Underwood, and Jimmy Stafford, expressed their deep grief on social media, reminiscing about Colin’s technical talent and impact on the group.

Originally from Newport Beach, California, Charlie Colin was a pivotal figure in Train’s early success, contributing to hit albums such as ‘Drops of Jupiter’ that propelled the band to mainstream recognition.

Colin’s journey in music began when he crossed paths with Hotchkiss in school, leading to collaborations that eventually birthed Train as a band.

Despite parting ways with Train in 2003, Colin remained active in the music scene, working with bands like Slipknot and Puddle of Mudd, while also forming new groups like Painbirds and The Side Deal.

Throughout his career, Charlie Colin’s legacy continued to evolve as he explored diverse musical ventures, showcasing his versatile skills on stage and in the studio.
