Monster Hunter Wilds Character Creation Screen

LOS ANGELES, Calif. – Capcom has outlined the steps for players to transfer their character data from the Monster Hunter Wilds open beta test to the full game, which launches on February 28, 2025.

Players who participated in the open beta will be able to import their previously created hunters and Palicos into the full game. This feature will help users save time and retain the creativity they invested in character customization. To initiate the transfer, players must play online and ensure that Monster Hunter Wilds is fully installed.

Upon completing the prologue cutscene, players will reach the Character Creator screen. Selecting ‘Hunter’ reveals an option at the bottom of the menu labeled ‘Beta Test Data’ in yellow. Players can then choose ‘Palico’ and follow the same steps to import their design.

“Transferring data is straightforward, but it is crucial to follow the correct steps as the process is not automatic,” said a Capcom representative. “We understand that players want to keep their personalized designs.”

Players are reminded that only the external character designs will be transferred, not any weapons, gear, or crafted items acquired during the beta test. Capcom’s guide emphasizes that a stable internet connection is necessary for the transfer to succeed.

To utilize the import, characters must have been saved at the end of the last beta test. Customizations made after the beta will be overridden. Players wishing to begin anew can still use Character Edit or Palico Edit Vouchers to recreate their previous designs.

Capcom also mentioned that rewards for beta testers—including exclusive items like the Stuffed Felyne Teddy pendant and Bonus Item Pack—will be accessible upon the game’s release. These incentives aim to recognize the time and effort players invested in the beta.

Following the launch, players can expect new limited-time event quests and various updates. These will begin in early April, featuring returning monsters and a new stronger creature, further expanding the game’s dynamic world.
