Trevor Noah And Jon Stewart

As Jon Stewart resumes his role on “The Daily Show” every Monday, fans might soon witness another familiar face making an appearance on the show. Former host Trevor Noah has indicated his interest in revisiting the show, though this time as a guest rather than a host.

In a recent media event for his new book “Into the Uncut Grass,” Noah expressed his enthusiasm for the idea. When “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie inquired whether Noah would consider returning for a guest segment, Noah replied, “Oh, always. Always.” According to him, he and Stewart have discussed this possibility frequently. “Jon and I text about it all the time,” Noah revealed. “I’m just gonna come pop in and just like, harass him for a full day, and then be his guest.”

Noah spoke of the close communication he maintains with Stewart. He had previously mentioned in a stand-up show Q&A session earlier this year that Stewart discussed his return before it was publicly announced. Noah expressed his admiration for Stewart’s once-a-week hosting schedule, lightheartedly recalling his message to Stewart: “I literally messaged him, and I was like, ‘You son of a b****. You figured it out!'”

Trevor Noah served as the host of “The Daily Show” for eight years, following his initial role as a correspondent in 2014. He succeeded Stewart as the host in 2015 and surprisingly announced his departure from the role in late 2022.
