Donald Trump Interview Meet The Press

Palm Beach, Florida – President Donald Trump emphasized his administration’s achievements during a recent interview on NBC‘s “Meet the Press,” marking the conclusion of his first 100 days in office. He highlighted successes in reducing various costs, particularly gasoline, and stressed strong measures on immigration and social programs.

In the interview aired on May 4, 2025, Trump claimed that gasoline prices are “thousands of times more important” than the rising costs of other goods, such as toys and home products. He stated, “Prices are down at tremendous numbers for gasoline,” pointing to broader drops in energy costs.

Trump expressed confidence in his border security policies, stating, “It’s really secure,” while promising not to cut essential social programs like Medicaid, Medicare, and Social Security. He stated, “We’re not cutting Medicaid, we’re not cutting Medicare, and we’re not cutting Social Security.” He also vowed to continue deportations of individuals he deemed dangerous.

In terms of trade, Trump maintained strong support for his tariff policies, claiming they benefit the U.S. auto industry. He touted improvements in the trade deficit, predicting a soon-to-be profitable situation for the U.S. economy. “We’re going to be at a point soon where we’re making money every day,” he noted.

Discussing foreign policy, Trump reiterated the importance of nonproliferation regarding Iran, stating, “The only thing they can’t have is a nuclear weapon.” He also commented on the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, indicating optimism about approaching peace negotiations, but acknowledging the “tremendous hatred” that complicates the situation.

Trump addressed criticisms regarding economic tariffs and inflation, claiming many businesses would thrive despite the tariffs. He acknowledged some rising prices but maintained that essentials like gasoline remain a priority. “Gasoline is thousands of times more important than a stroller,” he asserted.

While Trump faced questions about the future of his political movement, he supported Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio as potential successors, predicting the movement would endure beyond his presidency.

As the interview concluded, Trump emphasized his commitment to address inflation and economic recovery, insisting, “I think we’re going to do fantastically.” He added that he believes the coming years will witness a strong economy under his leadership.
