Trump Attacking Liz Cheney At Arizona Campaign Event

Former President Donald Trump has intensified his verbal assault on former Representative Liz Cheney, labeling her a “war hawk” and suggesting she should be placed in a perilous situation during a campaign event in Arizona on Thursday night.

Trump, appearing alongside former Fox News anchor Tucker Carlson in Glendale, Arizona, unleashed a barrage of insults against Cheney. He referred to her as “very dumb,” a “stupid person,” and “the moron,” criticizing her stance on foreign affairs and her role in House Republican leadership.

Trump’s remarks included a violent scenario where he proposed putting Cheney in a combat zone. “She’s a radical war hawk. Let’s position her with a rifle, standing there with nine barrels aimed at her, alright? Let’s observe how she reacts when the guns are pointed at her face,” Trump said. This rhetoric marks a significant escalation of the aggressive language he has used against his political adversaries in recent weeks.

Liz Cheney has been a vocal critic of Trump, particularly regarding his attempts to reverse the 2020 election results and his involvement in the January 6, 2021, insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. She was instrumental in the House select committee that investigated the incident and has recently been campaigning with Vice President Kamala Harris, urging Republicans to support Harris over Trump.

Trump also expressed his astonishment at former Vice President Dick Cheney‘s endorsement of Harris, despite Trump having previously pardoned Dick Cheney’s ex-chief of staff, I. Lewis “Scooter” Libby, who was convicted of perjury in 2007. Trump criticized Liz Cheney’s father for supporting his daughter, whom Trump described as “very dumb”.

The former president’s comments reflect the increasingly tense and divisive political environment, with both Democrats and some Republicans cautioning about Trump’s authoritarian inclinations. Trump’s rhetoric has been criticized for contributing to a heated political climate, with some labeling him a ‘fascist’).
