Trump Grants Full Pardons to Todd and Julie Chrisley

WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Donald Trump announced on May 27, 2025, that he has granted full pardons to reality TV stars Todd and Julie Chrisley. The couple had been serving time in federal prison for tax evasion and bank fraud since January 2023, following their conviction in 2022.
During a phone call with their daughter, Savannah Chrisley, Trump expressed sympathy for the couple’s situation. He remarked, “Your parents are going to be free and clean, and I hope we can do it by tomorrow.” Trump added, “I don’t know them, but give them my regards and wish them a good life.”
Todd Chrisley, 56, and Julie Chrisley, 52, were found guilty of conspiring to defraud community banks out of more than $30 million. Prosecutors revealed that the couple submitted fake loan documents, while living a lavish lifestyle showcased in their TV series, ‘Chrisley Knows Best.’ Julie was sentenced to seven years in prison, while Todd received 12 years.
The couple’s legal troubles began in August 2019, when they were indicted for failing to file federal taxes and misreporting their income. They had also been appealing their convictions since their sentencing in November 2022. A three-judge panel recently discovered a legal error regarding Julie’s sentencing, leading to her case being sent back for reconsideration.
