Trump Inauguration to Feature Star-Studded Lineup of Performers
WASHINGTON, D.C. — President-elect Donald Trump‘s 2025 inauguration will feature a star-studded lineup of performers, marking a stark contrast to his 2017 inauguration, which reportedly struggled to attract high-profile artists. The Trump Vance Inaugural Committee announced that several well-known musicians will participate in the inaugural events, celebrating Trump’s historic victory and the 60th Presidential Inauguration.
Carrie Underwood, the country music star who rose to fame as the winner of ‘American Idol,’ will perform ‘America the Beautiful’ during the swearing-in ceremony. ‘I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,’ Underwood said in a statement provided to NPR. ‘I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.’
Classical tenor Christopher Macchio will perform the national anthem during the swearing-in ceremony. Macchio, who first met Trump when he filled in for a New Year’s Eve performance at Mar-a-Lago, expressed his excitement about the opportunity. Lee Greenwood, the Grammy-winning country artist known for his hit ‘God Bless the USA,’ will also perform at the swearing-in ceremony and the Make America Great Again Victory Rally. ‘I am humbled and honored to be asked to perform for our 47th President Donald J. Trump during his inaugural events,’ Greenwood said in a statement.
Kid Rock, a vocal supporter of Trump, will take the stage at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally. The Michigan singer-songwriter has been a prominent figure in the MAGA movement and previously performed at the Republican National Convention. The disco band Village People, led by original member Victor Willis, will perform at both the Make America Great Again Victory Rally and the Liberty Ball. Their 1978 hit ‘Y.M.C.A.’ became a staple at Trump’s campaign rallies, despite controversy over its use as an unofficial gay anthem. ‘We believe that music is to be performed without regard to politics,’ Willis wrote on Facebook.
Billy Ray Cyrus, who publicly supported Trump during the campaign, will perform at the Make America Great Again Victory Rally. Cyrus, best known for his hit ‘Achy Breaky Heart,’ recently won two Grammys for his collaboration on the remix of ‘Old Town Road.’ Liberty University‘s gospel choir, LU Praise, will also perform at the rally, adding a spiritual element to the festivities.
Country singer Jason Aldean, who endorsed Trump at a campaign rally in Georgia, will perform at the Liberty Ball. Aldean, a five-time Grammy nominee, has been a vocal supporter of Trump and recently dedicated a performance of his song ‘Try That in a Small Town‘ to the then-candidate. ‘As a father and an American citizen, I want to see our country get back to its values and principles that made us great to begin with,’ Aldean wrote on Instagram.
Other performers include Rascal Flatts, who will perform at the Commander in Chief Ball, and Parker McCollum, who will join them at the event. Gavin DeGraw, known for his hit ‘I Don’t Want to Be,’ will perform at the Starlight Ball. The inaugural events will also feature a surprise musical guest at the Liberty Ball, adding an element of anticipation to the celebrations.
‘The pageantry is wonderful. I’m excited about all of that,’ Greenwood told The Associated Press. ‘I’m excited to sing yet again for President of the United States and particularly my friend Donald J. Trump.’
