Trump Launches Licensed Watch Collection Featuring High-End Models
Donald Trump, former President and current Republican presidential candidate, has announced a new commercial endeavor through the release of the “Official Trump Watch Collection.” This includes high-end timepieces, with some models encrusted with diamonds and priced up to $100,000. Named the Trump Tourbillon Victory, these watches feature intricate mechanisms and luxury materials, aligning with Trump’s long-standing practice of tying business ventures to his brand identity.
The timepieces are being produced by BestWatchesOnEarth LLC, which has licensed the Trump name to develop these limited-edition Swiss-made watches. The collection reportedly includes the Trump Tourbillon Victory watch, decorated with 122 VS1 quality diamonds and built with 18-karat gold. The watches are said to house a tourbillon escapement, a complex mechanism that enhances accuracy, traditionally found in high-priced, luxury watches.
Tourbillon watches generally demand significant investment due to the complex nature of their construction, often surpassing the $100,000 mark. However, more affordable versions exist, with prices sometimes below $25,000. The movement in the Trump watch is described as the TX 07 tourbillon with a power reserve of 105 hours, although specific details regarding the manufacturer remain unspecified. There is speculation it may involve the BCP Tourbillon hand-wound movement, known for making luxury complications accessible.
In addition to the Trump Tourbillon Victory, the watch collection also features the “Fight Fight Fight” models, priced between $499 and $799. These models are designed as sports watches, showcasing water resistance up to 200 meters. The watches in this line do not bear the “Swiss made” mark, as they employ a Japanese TMI NH36 caliber by Seiko, featuring day and date functionalities.
While the watches are emblazoned with the Trump name, the sales entities emphasize that the proceeds from these items do not directly support Trump’s political campaigns, nor are they produced by Trump or his direct business affiliates. The watches are marketed as collectibles rather than investment pieces, and sales are conducted on a pre-order basis with no refund policies.
Trump has a storied history of licensing his name for a wide range of products, including fragrances, clothing, and now, high-end accessories. This move aligns with his ongoing strategy of monetizing personal branding through commercial ventures, separate from his political activities. The watch collection launch comes at a time when Trump continues to face legal challenges, including a recent $489 million civil fraud judgment, which a New York appellate court is considering for adjustment.
Representatives of the Trump campaign and TheBestWatchesOnEarth LLC were not immediately available for comment regarding the details of the licensing agreement.
