R-Truth Denies El Grande Americano Is Chad Gable

LOS ANGELES, CA — WWE Superstar R-Truth has publicly dismissed speculation that El Grande Americano is Chad Gable. In a recent interview, Truth said he has no idea who the masked wrestler is, stating, “There’s been a lot of names thrown in the barrel. I don’t know who that is. I have no clue. It’s not me, it’s not Little Jimmy — too tall. I don’t think it’s Shorty G — too small.”
El Grande Americano made his WrestleMania debut last month in Las Vegas, where he defeated Rey Fenix to make a statement. Following this win, he also secured a victory over Dragon Lee on May 5, 2025. Despite his growing presence, Truth believes that Gable cannot be behind the mask.
The speculation around El Grande Americano’s identity continues to stir debate among fans, especially since many have linked him to Gable, who previously used the ring name Shorty G. Yet, Gable has repeatedly refuted claims of his involvement with the new character.
In a related conversation, WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, during an interview with Sportskeeda Wrestling, expressed doubts regarding Gable’s connection to El Grande Americano. He remarked, “I hope he never goes to Mexico; that’s all I can say,” reflecting concerns about the character’s reception in the lucha libre community.
As the wrestling world watches closely, R-Truth’s comments suggest that the identity of El Grande Americano will remain a mystery for the time being.
