Two Step Inn Festival Brings Country Legends to Georgetown This Weekend

GEORGETOWN, Texas – The third annual Two Step Inn country music festival is set to kick off this weekend, April 5-6, at San Gabriel Park. This year’s lineup features country music heavyweights Miranda Lambert and Alan Jackson headlining Saturday, while Sunday showcases Lynyrd Skynyrd and Sturgill Simpson, performing under the alias Johnny Blue Skies. Lambert’s performance marks her first in the Austin area in nearly a decade.
Alan Jackson, currently on his farewell tour, will entertain fans with what may be one of his last performances, before retiring from touring. Jackson, 66, has had a remarkable career, selling over 75 million records and leaving an indelible mark on the country music scene.
“I’m most excited for Alan Jackson,” said festival-goer Lucy Beatty. “I grew up here in Georgetown, so seeing such big names come to my hometown is very exciting for me.” Fellow attendee Phillip McKinney echoed her sentiment, calling the venue well-organized and easy to navigate.
As excitement builds for the festival, St. David’s Georgetown, the local hospital, is also prepping for the influx of attendees. Jenna Price, a disease management coordinator at the hospital, said that with an expected crowd of 70,000, they anticipate an increase in minor injuries, particularly related to overheating and falls.
“Prevention is the foundation of what we do,” said Price. “We want to provide you with the right information so you can have a fun weekend without ending up in the hospital.” Price urges festival-goers to drink plenty of water, especially if consuming alcohol, to maintain proper hydration levels.
With temperatures expected to rise, Price suggests attendees wear sunscreen and protective gear, such as hats. “If the sunscreen, for whatever reason, doesn’t work or doesn’t last all day, you still have that hat as an additional component,” she advised. Festival regulations allow personal misting fans and non-aerosol sunscreen under certain restrictions, while prohibiting umbrellas and outside food or beverages.
In preparation for the festival, sections of San Gabriel Park have been closed since March 25 for event setup and will remain closed until April 11. Road closures will also be in place from April 5-7 in surrounding areas, with specific details available on the city’s interactive map.
As for parking, designated paid spots will be available at Georgetown and East View high school locations, offering shuttle services to the festival grounds. Bicycle parking will also be provided near the festival entrances, accommodating those who prefer to ride to the event.
Two Step Inn prides itself on being the “world’s largest outdoor honky tonk” and features additional acts throughout the weekend at various stages. Set times are subject to change, with festival-goers encouraged to check the official Two Step Inn website or mobile app for the latest updates. The festival promises a mix of country music talent, food, and fun, making it a highly-anticipated highlight in Georgetown’s event calendar.
