Lagos State Government honors TwoBaba, one of Nigeria‘s most influential musicians, with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his remarkable contributions to the music industry. Born Innocent Idibia, TwoBaba, formerly known as 2Face Idibia, rose to prominence in the late 1990s as a member of the music group Plantashun Boiz and later as a solo artist.

TwoBaba’s hit song ‘African Queen‘ released in 2004 became an anthem across Africa and brought global recognition to the Afro-pop genre. The track became a massive success, featuring prominently on international charts, including the Billboard charts, and solidifying TwoBaba’s position as a trailblazer in African music.

The artist, known for his soulful voice and meaningful lyrics, has consistently topped charts with numerous other hits throughout his career. His music resonates deeply with fans, and his contribution to the Nigerian music industry has been unparalleled.

Having won several awards over the years, including the MTV Europe Music Awards for Best African Act, TwoBaba’s talent and impact have been recognized globally. His musical artistry continues to inspire upcoming artists, and he remains an icon in the African music scene.
