Tyrese Haliburton Wwe Royal Rumble 2025 Prediction

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — Indiana Pacers star Tyrese Haliburton has thrown his support behind wrestling legend John Cena to win the 2025 WWE Royal Rumble, set to take place at Lucas Oil Stadium on Feb. 1. Haliburton shared his prediction during an interview with former Indianapolis Colts punter Pat McAfee ahead of Friday night’s Smackdown event at Gainbridge Fieldhouse.

“I’m expecting a lot of energy,” Haliburton said. “Indy deserves this. I’m really excited about it, and it’s going to be a lot of fun. So let’s do it.” The NBA standout confirmed he will attend the Royal Rumble after the Pacers face the Atlanta Hawks at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

When asked about his pick for the men’s Royal Rumble match, Haliburton surprised the crowd, who chanted for CM Punk. “Does that mean I’m supposed to agree?” he quipped. “Give me John Cena!”

The Royal Rumble, a 30-wrestler match, begins with two participants in the ring, with a new wrestler entering every 90 seconds. Elimination occurs when a wrestler is thrown over the top rope and both feet touch the floor. The last wrestler standing earns a world championship match at WrestleMania, scheduled for April 19-20, 2025, at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.

WWE has announced several ticket packages for the event, ranging from $600 for upper-level seating to $5,200 for floor seats with exclusive perks like ringside photo ops and pre-show hospitality. Gold and Elite packages have already sold out.

This year’s Royal Rumble will stream exclusively on Peacock in the U.S. and on WWE Network internationally. The event marks WWE’s return to Indianapolis, with fans eagerly anticipating high-energy matches and surprise appearances.

Recent Royal Rumble winners include Cody Rhodes (2024), Brock Lesnar (2022), and Edge (2021) for the men, and Bayley (2024), Ronda Rousey (2022), and Bianca Belair (2021) for the women. Haliburton’s pick, John Cena, last won the Royal Rumble in 2008 and 2013, solidifying his status as one of WWE’s most iconic figures.
