Unmc Urges Reporting Of Facilities Maintenance Issues

The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) is encouraging its staff to report any facilities maintenance issues that need repair or replacement. The facilities operations team at UNMC is responsible for ensuring that the various buildings and facilities spanning approximately 10 million square feet meet the necessary requirements to support the organization’s operations.

Employees are requested to report any issues such as malfunctioning doors, plumbing or lighting problems, slip hazards, wet ceiling tiles, temperature irregularities, or any other abnormalities through the Archibus work request system. For urgent situations like active water issues or odors, employees are advised to call the service desk directly to activate a faster response time.

In January, UNMC announced a series of retirements. One notable retiree was Dr. James Campbell, a professor in the UNMC Division of General Internal Medicine, who concluded his impressive 47-year career with the medical center on January 3. Vicki Hamm from the UNMC Office of Graduate Medical Education also officially retired on January 1, after having joined UNMC on June 16, 1975. Another retiree was Sue Clark from the McGoogan Health Sciences Library, who retired after 39 years of service to the campus on January 1.

Food vendors are available on weekdays at UNMC’s Omaha campus. They can be found on both the east and west sides of the campus, serving lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The specific locations may vary, but they can usually be found around the Sorrell Center and Alumni Commons area on the east end, and the Durham Research Center towers on the west end.

For any inquiries regarding the food vendors or other matters related to UNMC’s Office of Business and Finance, employees are encouraged to reach out via email.

UNMC’s facilities maintenance team is dedicated to ensuring a safe and functional environment for the staff and visitors. By promptly reporting any issues, the organization can address and resolve any maintenance problems efficiently, allowing for smooth operations and a positive experience for everyone at UNMC.
