TOKYO, Japan — Electronic Arts Inc. unveiled its upcoming game, Star Wars Zero Company™, during the Star Wars Celebration Japan on April 19, 2025. This single-player, turn-based tactical game promises an immersive experience set in the waning days of the Clone Wars, allowing players to command a unique group of professionals for hire, known as Zero Company.

The announcement comes from a panel featuring key developers from Bit Reactor, the studio behind the game, alongside representatives from Respawn Entertainment and Lucasfilm Games. The event was hosted by gaming journalist Lucy James, who moderated discussions centered around gameplay mechanics and character designs.

Star Wars Zero Company is slated for release on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S in 2026. The game is said to draw elements from strategic gameplay popularized by titles like XCOM, providing an isometric vantage point from which players can manage and customize their forces throughout the galaxy.

According to Bit Reactor’s leadership, the game will explore intriguing storylines involving various characters from the Star Wars universe. Promotional artwork unveiled during the panel features a diverse cast, including a Tognath Jedi, a former Clone Trooper, and a Mandalorian, among others. A notable character is a red-and-silver R5 astromech droid, hinting at the game’s blend of familiar Star Wars lore and new narratives.

“The moment fans have been waiting for is finally here. We’re thrilled to bring Zero Company to life,” said a Bit Reactor representative during the panel. “Our aim is to offer a fresh take on tactical gameplay within a beloved universe.”

Fans have been eagerly anticipating further details about the game since its initial announcement back in 2022. The reveal at Star Wars Celebration has fueled excitement, particularly since it follows the 2023 release of Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, another title from Respawn.

Speculation surrounding the game’s mechanics suggests it may involve an extensive hub world, granting players the opportunity to upgrade and further customize their roster of characters, each with unique abilities and equipment. The storyline is rumored to include scenarios set in familiar locations, including the mining colony on the Ring of Kafrene, as seen in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

The line-up of characters and narrative promise highlights the ingenuity brought together by the collaboration of Respawn’s storytelling prowess and Bit Reactor’s strategic gameplay experience. Fans can expect a revealing of more gameplay elements and story arcs as the release date approaches.

Star Wars Zero Company has officially been added to many fans’ wishlists as anticipation builds ahead of its projected launch in 2026.
