During a recent outing at the San Diego Comic-Con, Vanessa Kirby took a moment to help her co-star Pedro Pascal calm his nerves. The two were on stage for the Marvel Studios presentation of The Fantastic Four.

As the presentation went on, a touching moment caught everyone’s attention: a video of Kirby holding Pascal’s hand to help him cope with his social anxiety started making the rounds online. Fans cheered for Kirby’s support, praising her compassion.

Among the fans was Julia Fox, who shared her love for Kirby’s supportive gesture with a simple comment saying, ‘I love her.’ People quickly rallied around Kirby, saying things like, ‘This is so adorable, Vanessa truly understood the assignment.’

Pedro Pascal has spoken about his struggles with anxiety in interviews before. He mentioned to The Guardian that he’s lived with anxiety since childhood, noting, ‘I don’t know what kind of person I’d be without it.’ He treats anxiety as something he manages, but also a part of what defines him.

Pascal even shared his thoughts about experiences that can trigger his feelings of anxiety. He explained, ‘I know that I have to put myself in high-stress situations to be happy… there’s a certain level of anxiety that helps me do good work.’

This isn’t the first time fans have seen Pascal handle his anxiety publicly. At a previous event for HBO’s The Last of Us, he was spotted explaining his coping methods to co-star Bella. He asked her if she knew why he puts his hand on his stomach during photo sessions, revealing, ‘My anxiety is right there.’ This is one of his ways to feel more at ease during such social events.
