Varun Dhawan Unveils First Look of Action Entertainer ‘Baby John’

Popular Bollywood actor Varun Dhawan has released the first look of his upcoming action-packed film ‘Baby John‘. Directed by Atlee and produced by Kalees and Murad Khetani, the movie is set to be the biggest action entertainer of 2024.

The one-minute teaser, shared on JioStudios’ YouTube channel, showcases Varun Dhawan in an intense avatar as he prepares to take on his enemies. The teaser features a battlefield-like setting with traditional dancers and guns surrounding Varun’s character, reminiscent of the iconic Iron Throne from the television series Game of Thrones.

‘Baby John’ was initially titled VD18 and boasts a star-studded cast including Keerthy Suresh and Wamiqa Gabbi. The film is set to hit theaters globally on May 31, 2024. Jackie Shroff and S Thaman have also been roped in for supporting roles, while the music is composed by S Thaman.

This action-packed entertainer is the Hindi remake of Atlee’s Tamil film ‘Theri‘, which was a huge success at the box office. Varun Dhawan, known for his versatility, is stepping into the lead role of ‘Baby John’ hoping to recreate the same magic on screen. The film marks Atlee’s foray into Bollywood as a producer, collaborating with co-producers Priya Atlee, Murad Khetani, and Jyoti Deshpande.

Varun Dhawan has expressed his gratitude towards Shah Rukh Khan for inspiring him not only as an actor but also as a producer. Having spent four years learning from and observing Shah Rukh Khan, Varun has now ventured into film production himself, aiming to produce movies in multiple languages.

‘Theri’, the original Tamil version of ‘Baby John’, starred popular actor Vijay, as well as Samantha Ruth Prabhu and Amy Jackson. It grossed over Rs 150 crore at the box office, making it one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of 2016.
