Vijay Sethupathi Takes Over as Host for ‘Bigg Boss Tamil’ Season 8
The popular Indian reality television show, ‘Bigg Boss Tamil‘, has returned for its eighth season, premiering on Vijay Television on Sunday evening. In a significant change, actor Vijay Sethupathi has taken over as the show’s host, replacing Kamal Haasan, who hosted the first seven seasons. This year’s lineup features a diverse group of participants, including actors, VJs, social media influencers, and others from various fields.
Among the notable contestants is Ravindar Chandrasekaran, a filmmaker known for producing films such as ‘Nalanum Nandhiniyum’, ‘Kolai Nokku Paarvai’, and ‘Sutta Kadhai’. He gained media attention in 2022 following his marriage to television actor Mahalakshmi, and in 2023, he was involved in a high-profile fraud case.
Another contestant, Sachanaa Namidas, gained prominence for her role as Jothi, the daughter of the lead character in a hit film starring actor Vijay, released earlier this year. Additionally, Dharsha Gupta, who rose to fame on the cooking show ‘Cooku With Comali’, and Sathya, recognized for his fitness enthusiasm and previous work, adding further star power to the show’s roster.
Other participants include Deepak Dinakar, Ananthi Iyappan, Sunitha Ray, Jeffry, Pavithra Janani, and Soundariya Nanjundan. Each contestant brings their own unique backgrounds and accolades to the table, from hosting and acting to creating content on digital platforms.
The format of the show involves the contestants living together in a house, isolated from the outside world, while being filmed constantly. The interactions, activities, and eliminations are watched by viewers, who also get a say in determining the winner through voting.
‘Bigg Boss Tamil’ Season 8 is scheduled to air daily at 9:30 pm on Vijay Television and is also available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar, providing fans with ample opportunities to keep up with the drama and excitement of the reality show.
