LOS ANGELES, California — Oscar winner Viola Davis is set to star in and produce a new thriller titled ‘Ally Clark‘ for Amazon MGM Studios. This project marks a reunion with the studio following the success of her previous film, ‘G20.’

Directed by veteran filmmaker Phillip Noyce, known for his work on thrillers like ‘Salt’ and ‘Clear and Present Danger,’ ‘Ally Clark’ features a screenplay by Jose Ruisanchez and Irwin Winkler. Winkler is also producing, alongside Charles Winkler and David Winkler from Winkler Films, as well as Davis and her husband Julius Tennon through their JuVee Productions company.

The film follows investigator Ally Clark, portrayed by Davis, as she delves into a dangerous investigation tied to the suspicious death of a close friend. The storyline takes her from the distinguished corridors of Washington, D.C., through the bayous of Louisiana, and to the icy landscapes of Alaska.

‘Ally Clark’ is currently in development, with Melanie Clark serving as executive producer for JuVee Productions. Davis’s previous film, ‘G20,’ became a streaming hit on Prime Video in April, earning the top spot on Nielsen’s movie chart during its debut week with 516 million minutes viewed.

Davis, who holds an EGOT title for her array of awards, continues to seek roles that intersect her passion for socially relevant themes in entertainment. Upcoming projects include an adaptation of Tomi Adeyemi’s ‘Children of Blood and Bone‘ for Paramount. Noyce’s most recent work was the action thriller ‘Fast Charlie,’ featuring Pierce Brosnan.
