Walter White’s RV Tour Returns After Owner’s Health Crisis

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – After a year-long hiatus, Frank Sandoval, owner of Breaking Bad RV Tours, is ready to return to the streets of Albuquerque with his iconic vehicle, made famous by the hit television series. The pause in tours was due to serious health issues Sandoval faced over the past year.
Sandoval, who has operated the tour for a decade, explained, “I noticed that I was very little confused, you know, I started to forget things a lot, and started to have stomach issues.” His declining health prompted him to halt the tours while he sought medical help.
In January, his condition worsened significantly. “Turns out I was bleeding inside,” Sandoval recalled. “The doctors were preparing my family, they said, ‘We may lose him. He’s bleeding. We can’t stop the bleeding.’” After multiple procedures to address stones in his liver and intestines, Sandoval is on the mend and feeling better than ever.
“I’m feeling 100% now and I can’t wait to start giving tours again by this summer,” he said, emphasizing his commitment to continuing the passion he has for the show and for Albuquerque. Sandoval’s enthusiasm for the series is palpable; he even made a cameo in one scene. “I was so thrilled about that, and then I saw the show, and I fell in love,” he said.
Since acquiring his first RV in 2014, inspired by a bet with a friend, he has captivated fans of the series, bringing them to filming locations around the city. “Once people found out that we were doing tours, everybody wanted to ride in the RV. It became like an icon for Albuquerque,” Sandoval noted, remarking on the affection locals and visitors have for the tour.
As the tour resumes, Albuquerque looks forward to seeing Walter White’s RV on the road again, a symbol of the enduring legacy of the show and Sandoval’s determination to overcome his health challenges.
