Warren’s ‘Ordinary’ Hits Seventh Week at No. 1 in UK

LONDON, UK – Warren‘s hit single “Ordinary” has achieved remarkable success, marking its seventh consecutive week at No. 1 on the U.K. charts as of May 2. This streak makes “Ordinary” the longest-running chart-topper since Sabrina Carpenter’s nine-week reign with “Taste” in 2024.
The song is also experiencing a surge in popularity in the U.S., where it climbed to No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, up two spots from the previous week. This is Warren’s highest-ever position on the U.S. charts, and it appears poised to compete with another hit, “Luther,” for the top spot in the coming weeks.
Last weekend, Warren performed at the Stagecoach Festival in California. During the event, singer Lana Del Rey sang part of “Ordinary” back to him, expressing her admiration for the track. “Every time I hear it, I think, ‘Why can’t we hear more like this? Because it takes you to church,'” she said.
Warren, known for his powerful performances and emotional songwriting, has previously opened up about using difficult moments in his life as inspiration for his music. Speaking in January, he reflected on the loss of both parents and a period of homelessness, stating, “I recently started doing this thing where I write about those experiences, and I try to take control in a way. For me, something really beautiful is taking something so sad and dark, and what most would view as something that ruined their life, and turn it into something that can help people.”
In the current charts, Chappell Roan‘s “Pink Pony Club” holds steady at No. 2, while the collaboration between South African-German artist WizTheMc and British-German group Bees & Honey, titled “Show Me Love,” rises to No. 3. Ed Sheeran‘s “Azizam” drops one position to No. 4, and Ravyn Lenae‘s “Love Me Not” climbs four spots to No. 5. Additionally, Lorde‘s “What Was That,” the first song from her upcoming album, debuts as the highest new entry at No. 11, marking her fifth top 40 hit.
