Weatherman's Panic Attack Halts Live Broadcast

On Tuesday morning, viewers watching ABC News Breakfast got a surprising moment when weatherman Nate Byrne had to pause his live broadcast because of a panic attack.

It was around 6:30 a.m. when things took a turn. Nate, known for his cheerful weather updates, suddenly stopped and said, “I’m going to need to stop for a second,” his voice shaky.

He opened up to the audience, sharing, “Some of you may know that I occasionally get affected by some panic attacks, and actually that’s happening right now.” With that, he called on his co-host Lisa Millar to take over the segment.

As the camera shifted back to Lisa, Nate took a moment off-camera to gather himself. He later returned to apologize, saying, “Sorry if I gave anybody a bit of a scare.”

Michael Rowland, another co-host, couldn’t help but joke that he was just relieved he didn’t have to jump in and report the weather himself.

After the incident, Rowland shared a clip on his Instagram, reassuring everyone that Nate was doing alright. He thanked the viewers for their kind messages, saying, “What a wonderful audience we have!”

Nate has been open about his struggles with panic attacks, having shared his experiences in an article last year. He described the feeling during his first serious anxiety episode, saying it was “absolutely terrifying.”

Now, Nate uses various tools to help him manage panic attacks, ensuring he can keep doing what he loves – sharing the weather with the community.
