LOS ANGELES, Calif. — The Weeknd‘s highly anticipated sixth studio album, ‘Hurry Up Tomorrow,’ has been delayed to January 31 due to the ongoing Los Angeles wildfires, with leaked reports suggesting collaborations with Billie Eilish and Lana Del Rey. The album, initially set for release on January 24, was reportedly shipped early to vinyl stores, where a Reddit user claimed to have seen the tracklist featuring the two artists.

The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, announced the delay on Instagram, citing the wildfires as the reason for postponing both the album release and a planned concert at the Rose Bowl. The wildfires have devastated parts of Southern California, destroying over 15,000 structures and displacing thousands of residents.

‘Hurry Up Tomorrow’ is rumored to be The Weeknd’s final album under his current moniker. The artist has hinted at retiring the name following this release. The album includes previously released singles such as ‘Dancing in the Flames,’ ‘Timeless’ featuring Playboi Carti, and ‘São Paulo’ featuring Anitta. An accompanying film of the same name, co-written by The Weeknd and starring Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan, is also in production and expected to premiere in May.

Meanwhile, the American Red Cross has been providing critical support to wildfire evacuees, offering shelter, meals, and emotional care. Over 600 evacuees are currently staying in Red Cross shelters, with volunteers working tirelessly to assist those affected. The organization has provided more than 10,000 overnight shelter stays and nearly 90,000 meals since the wildfires began.

As the fires continue to rage, The Weeknd’s delay underscores the broader impact of the disaster on Southern California’s cultural and community life. Fans eagerly await the album’s release, which promises to be a significant milestone in the artist’s career.
