Wendy's First Quarter Earnings Report 2025

Columbus, Ohio – Wendy’s President and CEO Kirk Tanner announced that the fast-food chain may face a less profitable 2025 due to the current economic climate in the United States. During a recent earnings call, Tanner reflected on first quarter results, indicating that consumer spending is under pressure.

“The consumer certainly is under pressure. I think that’s reflected in the Q1 numbers, and we see that persisting,” Tanner said. He emphasized the need for the company to adapt its strategies to address these economic challenges.

In response to changing consumer behavior, Wendy’s plans to launch a new initiative called the 100 Days of Summer campaign. This campaign aims to provide customers with fresh food offerings designed to meet their needs during challenging times.

“Customers are looking for an even more compelling reason to visit restaurants,” Tanner stated. The company aims to create a comfortable atmosphere for diners, hoping to draw in customers with innovative food options and value offerings.

Founded in 1969, Wendy’s currently operates 7,242 restaurants globally, with approximately 5,933 locations in the U.S. As of 2024, the restaurant chain continues to expand while responding to market conditions.
