Wes Anderson Cannes Film Festival 2025

CANNES, France (AP) — Director Wes Anderson is arriving at the Cannes Film Festival not by car, but on a bus. Laurent is the name of the driver who is bringing Anderson and his bus from Paris to the southern coast for the prestigious event.

During the journey, Anderson shared insights during a phone interview. He explained, “I don’t drive the bus. You have to have, like, four years of training and an EU bus driver’s license. The thing is, if you’re going to drive a bus like this, you’ve got to be able to drive it in reverse, too.”

Anderson is in Cannes to promote his latest film, “The Phoenician Scheme.” The film stars notable actors including Benicio Del Toro, Michael Cera, and Mia Threapleton. Promotional images for the film have already generated buzz.

The festival is taking place during a vibrant cinematic atmosphere, with many other filmmakers and celebrities present. Anderson’s unique style and contributions to cinema have made him a standout figure in the film community.

As he prepares for the premiere of “The Phoenician Scheme,” Anderson expresses excitement about sharing his work with the audience and the critical reception it may receive.

With his bus journey behind him, Anderson is set to leave his mark on this year’s festival.
