Miles Sadler Basketball Recruit Commitment

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The West Virginia Mountaineers made a significant leap in their basketball program on Sunday by landing a verbal commitment from Miles Sadler, a highly sought-after point guard in the Class of 2026.

Sadler, listed as the No. 4 point guard and No. 40 overall player by 247 Sports, announced his decision during a televised event on CBS Sports College Basketball Channel, surrounded by family and friends. The 5-foot-10 player, entering his senior year at Bella Vista Prep in Scottsdale, Arizona, is considered a top-tier recruit, with some services, including 247 Sports, rating him as a 4-star prospect.

Along with West Virginia, other finalists for Sadler included Maryland, Oklahoma, Tennessee, UCLA, and USC. Sadler also has experience on the Canadian Under-17 National team, making his commitment even more significant for the Mountaineers.

This commitment marks a major success for WVU head coach Ross Hodge, who has now secured both a 4-star and a 5-star recruit in the same class. Sadler joins his high school teammate, Aliou Dioum, who committed to the Mountaineers two months earlier. Fans are expressing excitement on social media as this signing could change the future landscape of West Virginia basketball.

Hodge, along with his assistant Yusuf Ali, played a crucial role in attracting Sadler, as Ali previously coached him. Sadler praised Hodge’s belief in him as a foundational aspect of his decision to join the Mountaineers.

With the current recruiting momentum and Sadler’s addition, West Virginia fans are optimistic about the future, seeing this as an era of improvement for their basketball program. The arrival of elite talent is expected to elevate West Virginia’s competitive edge in upcoming seasons.
