Whataburger Offers Free Biscuits to Celebrate Lainey Wilson Partnership

SAN ANTONIO, Texas – Whataburger is celebrating its 75th anniversary and the announcement of Grammy-winning country artist Lainey Wilson as its 2025 brand ambassador by offering free honey butter chicken biscuits at participating locations on Tuesday, Jan. 28, from 6 to 11 a.m.
The San Antonio-based fast-food chain revealed Wilson as its newest ambassador on Friday, Jan. 24. To mark the occasion, the company is giving away Wilson’s favorite menu item, the honey butter chicken biscuit, to customers at no cost. The promotion is available for both walk-in and drive-through customers, with a limit of one biscuit per person while supplies last.
“I’ve been rolling through Whataburger drive-thrus since I was just a small-town girl in Louisiana with big dreams,” Wilson said in a statement. “From grabbing Honey Butter Chicken Biscuits with my daddy between horse sales and rodeos to late-night stops on the road playing honky-tonks — Whataburger’s been part of my story every step of the way.”
Whataburger, founded in 1950, has become a cultural icon in Texas and beyond, known for its distinctive orange-and-white striped A-frame buildings and signature menu items. The honey butter chicken biscuit, a breakfast favorite, combines a crispy chicken patty with a sweet honey butter spread on a warm biscuit.
The promotion is part of Whataburger’s efforts to connect with fans and celebrate its milestone anniversary. The company has previously partnered with celebrities and athletes to promote its brand, but this marks the first time a country music star has been named its official ambassador.
Wilson, a Louisiana native, rose to fame with hits like “Things a Man Oughta Know” and has become a prominent figure in country music. Her partnership with Whataburger reflects her deep ties to Southern culture and her personal connection to the brand.
Whataburger operates over 900 locations across 14 states, primarily in the southern United States. The company has expanded its reach in recent years, opening new locations in states like Colorado and Kansas while maintaining its strong presence in Texas.
Fans of both Whataburger and Lainey Wilson are encouraged to arrive early on Tuesday to secure their free biscuits, as the promotion is expected to draw large crowds. The company has not specified how many biscuits will be available at each location.
