Whoopi Goldberg’s Resilience Rally: ABC’s ‘The View’ Shuns Conservative Voices

NEW YORK, NY — Whoopi Goldberg, co-host of ABC’s daytime talk show “The View,” recently delivered a stirring message to supporters of the “resistance” during her sign-off on Thursday’s episode. This announcement follows a report indicating that “The View” featured a striking imbalance in political representation, hosting 63 liberal guests and no conservative voices in the first three months of 2025.
The analysis conducted by the Media Research Center (MRC) covered episodes that spanned from January 6, when the show resumed after its winter break, through April 4. The findings revealed that, despite significant political events, the program saw no right-leaning guests discuss their perspectives on current affairs.
Among the liberal guests featured were prominent figures such as Senators Tammy Duckworth (D-Ill.), John Fetterman (D-Pa.), and Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.). Other liberal notables included Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.), and former Presidential press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre. Several entertainment personalities such as John Leguizamo and Chelsea Handler also made appearances.
NewsBusters associate editor Nicholas Fondacaro, who led the study, shared that the absence of conservative viewpoints may impact viewers’ understanding of political discourse. “What a program chooses to give a platform can tell you a lot about its mission,” Fondacaro noted. He emphasized that having a lineup comprising exclusively left-leaning guests suggests an agenda aimed at promoting liberal perspectives.
Goldberg’s recent comments included a rallying cry for the movement resisting President Donald Trump‘s administration, declaring, “Remember, the resistance is real. You’re not alone.” Such remarks have drawn attention due to the show’s perceived bias in addressing burgeoning political themes.
It is worth mentioning that the program has frequently encouraged protests against Trump, aiming for a stronger political stance among its audience. Analysts and critics suggest there may be growing frustration among viewers regarding the show’s lack of diverse political representation.
The absence of conservative guests not only draws criticism but also raises questions about fairness in media representation. An insider from ABC News contended that guest bookings often center on promoting projects rather than aligning with political ideologies.
Looking ahead, upcoming guests on “The View” are expected to include progressive voices. Despite a reported effort to diversify the show’s panel to attract varying perspectives, it remains to be seen whether any significant changes will occur. Earlier this year, there was speculation about bringing in conservative voices to counterbalance the ongoing liberal discourse featured on the show.
While Goldberg and her co-hosts continue to highlight liberal narratives, critics maintain that the show has the potential to better represent the rich tapestry of American political thought. Past cries for balance could yet resonate as viewers monitor the political landscape leading into future electoral cycles.
