Will Ferrell Dining At Italian Restaurant

PITTSBURGH, Pa. — Comedian Will Ferrell enjoyed a meal at Alla Famiglia Restaurant in the Allentown neighborhood on Tuesday, trading his character’s sweet spaghetti from the movie ‘Elf‘ for authentic Italian cuisine.

The restaurant shared a photo of Ferrell on Instagram, thanking him for his visit. “Thank you, Will Ferrell, for dining with us. Lots of laughs and good stories over meatballs and pasta,” the post read.

During his visit, Ferrell sampled a variety of dishes, including the restaurant’s signature seafood, aged steaks, handmade pasta, and veal, rather than the candy-filled spaghetti popularized by his character Buddy.

Owner Jonathan Vlasic expressed his appreciation for Ferrell’s patronage, stating, “We were honored to host Will Ferrell for an unforgettable meal. It’s always exciting to welcome guests who appreciate the passion and tradition behind our dishes.”

Opened in 1997, Alla Famiglia has garnered a reputation as a favorite among celebrities and food enthusiasts. Vlasic acquired the restaurant in 2005 and has since maintained its status as a standout in Pittsburgh‘s dining scene.

This isn’t the first celebrity appearance at a Pittsburgh establishment; earlier this year, country singer Keith Urban was spotted in the Strip District on a visit during a concert. Additionally, several other celebrities have visited local venues, enhancing Pittsburgh’s growing reputation as a destination for stars.

Ferrell, who became notable for his role on NBC‘s ‘Saturday Night Live‘ in the 1990s, has starred in numerous films, including ‘Anchorman,’ ‘Talladega Nights,’ and, of course, ‘Elf.’ While it’s unclear why he was in town, his appearance at Alla Famiglia drew attention from fans and diners.

Following his meal, the restaurant reported that Ferrell ordered chicken cacciatore, providing a fitting farewell to his culinary experience in the city.
