Willie Nelson Kicks Off Outlaw Festival Tour in Phoenix

Phoenix, Arizona – Willie Nelson launched the 2025 Outlaw Music Festival Tour on Tuesday, May 13, at the Talking Stick Resort Amphitheatre. This year marks the 10th anniversary of the festival, featuring special performances by Billy Strings, Sierra Hull, and Lily Meola.
The tour includes 35 stops across 22 states, showcasing a rotating lineup of artists. Among the notable guests are Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Sheryl Crow, and the Avett Brothers, promising a star-studded experience for fans.
Nelson’s concert celebrated his extensive catalog, thrilling attendees with a wealth of hits. The festival aims to draw country and music lovers together, with Nelson promising, “What an amazing lineup to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Outlaw Music Festival Tour. I can’t wait to join friends and family in bringing this celebration to the fans we love.”
Not far behind on the bill was Bob Dylan, who also performed at the festival. Dylan surprised the audience with a varied setlist that included rare performances and covers, enhancing the event’s reputation for extraordinary music. His opening song, “I’ll Be Your Baby Tonight,” remained a staple, but he shifted gears by playing “It Ain’t Me, Babe” on guitar.
Dylan’s setlist featured special moments, including performances of “Mr. Tambourine Man,” which had not been played since 2010, and the first cover of “Route 66” since 1986. Concertgoers appreciated the diversity in his songs from over the decades.
As the tour progresses, it will feature various outdoor amphitheaters across North America, further captivating audiences with impressive performances as the Outlaw Festival continues its legacy.
