Wizkid Releases New Single ‘Piece of My Heart’ Featuring Brent Faiyaz

Nigerian superstar Wizkid has released “Piece of My Heart,” featuring American singer Brent Faiyaz. The newly launched track debuted on October 18 and is the lead single from Wizkid’s forthcoming sixth studio album, “Morayo,” set to be released on November 22 via Starboy/Sony Music International/RCA Records.

The collaboration, recorded in London, was hinted at earlier by Wizkid who shared a snippet on Instagram, creating anticipation among fans. Brent Faiyaz sings a compelling chorus, “Nothing can tear us apart/ You’ve got a piece of my heart/ Nothing can tear us apart (Nothing in this world)/ You’ve got a piece of my heart (That belongs to you girl),” evoking themes of love and connection.

Both artists have actively collaborated with several musicians this year. Wizkid appeared on “MMS” with an artist on their third album “Lungu Boy” and on “Work Me Out” with another artist on her sophomore album, “Never Gets Late Here.” Brent Faiyaz’s notable collaboration includes “Should’ve Wore a Bonnet” on another artist’s album “American Dreams.”

Wizkid and Faiyaz share several mutual collaborators. Notably, both have featured on an artist’s 2023 album “Love Sick,” with Wizkid on “Slow Motion” and Faiyaz on “Bus Stop.” The two artists have also worked with a prominent musician on other projects.

Wizkid’s last album, “More Love, Less Ego,” released in 2022, achieved No. 59 on the charts and secured the No. 2 spot on other key rankings. The release of “Morayo,” meaning “I see joy” in Yoruba, marks an anticipated return for Wizkid, continuing his successful career trajectory.

The song “Essence,” famously featuring both artists, reached No. 9 with the help of a remix, further cementing their successful partnerships. Another collaboration, “Found,” from a 2021 EP, peaked at No. 17, showcasing their consistent ability to produce chart-topping hits.

The release of “Piece of My Heart” adds to an already impressive body of work from Wizkid, promising an exciting preview of what “Morayo” will offer fans around the world.
